With our commitment to sustainability comes a commitment to be a good neighbor in the communities in which we live and work. Our top priority at the Sawtooth Landfill is to build strong, collaborative relationships through ongoing communication with residents living in neighborhoods surrounding the landfill. By sharing information about the Sawtooth Landfill we hope to engage community residents to become involved in the planning and decision-making process of the region’s waste disposal plans.
Sawtooth Landfill is a vital component of the region’s waste disposal infrastructure to meet the needs of roughly 13 million residents and businesses throughout Los Angeles County. Despite best efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle, certain items cannot be repurposed and must be disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner. Sawtooth Landfill provides an environmentally responsible, safe and secure disposal option for materials that are not recycled.
Our staff of experts is available to present at meetings, citizen groups, schools and businesses, to educate the general public about waste reduction and recycling opportunities. We host and participate in community events to explain what we do and answer questions about our operations.
